The company’s EVs are now shipped to approximately 50 countries, including key markets like the U.K., Norway, Germany, Japan, and Switzerland. This broad reach highlights the global acceptance of Maruti Suzuki’s electric offerings.
‘Make in India’ Success Story
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Hisashi Takeuchi, Managing Director & CEO of Maruti Suzuki India Limited, stated, “This milestone reflects India’s advanced manufacturing capabilities and its growing competitiveness.” The company’s EV export journey began in August 2025 with the start of production of the e VITARA at the Hansalpur facility. The company has been India’s No. 1 passenger vehicle exporter for the past five consecutive years and holds over 50% share of passenger vehicle exports from India during April-September 2026.
Hansalpur Facility: A Key Export Hub
The Hansalpur facility in Gujarat, the exclusive manufacturing base for Suzuki’s first global Battery Electric Vehicle, plays a crucial role in this export success. The facility has an expanded annual production capacity of 1 million vehicles, making it the first Suzuki manufacturing facility globally to reach this capacity at a single location. With a cumulative investment of INR 252,887 million, Hansalpur serves as a key export hub, contributing nearly half of Maruti Suzuki’s overall overseas shipments in FY2025-26.
