Lux Industries Denies Allegations, Reaffirms Compliance
Lux Industries Limited has formally addressed allegations and insinuations made against its proposed expansion project at Dankuni, West Bengal. The company, via a legal notice issued by Advocate Piyush Agrawal, categorically denies all claims of false, baseless, malicious, misleading, and defamatory statements. These allegations were reportedly circulated through a YouTube video and a post on the social media platform “X” (formerly Twitter) on August 20, 2026.
Project Details and Compliance Assertions
The company detailed its approximately ₹600 crore expansion project, which includes land, building, plant, machinery, and other assets, aiming to create significant employment opportunities. Lux Industries asserted that it acquired the subject land and took all necessary steps for its conversion to “Factory” status from competent authorities in 2024, possessing valid conversion certificates. It stated that the “bhoomi-pujan” ceremony held on July 11, 2026, was ceremonial and ritualistic, demonstrating intent for expansion, not an inauguration of operations.
Furthermore, Lux Industries emphasized its adherence to all applicable laws, rules, and regulations, emphasizing a strong commitment to corporate governance and legal compliances. The company claims to have obtained all necessary stagewise permissions, approvals, and certifications for the project.
Legal Action and Demands
In response to the alleged defamatory statements, Lux Industries has issued a defamation notice to Mr. Kunal Ghosh. The company’s legal counsel has called upon Mr. Ghosh to cease and desist from publishing defamatory statements, remove related content from social media platforms, disclose purported sources of confidential information, and issue an unconditional public apology. Failure to comply within 72 hours may result in appropriate civil and/or criminal proceedings.
