ixigo Unveils Fully AI-Native Travel App with Advanced Agentic Features

On May 13, 2026, ixigo unveiled its new AI-native travel application, marking a shift from traditional transactional models to an intelligent, conversational experience. The platform features a reimagined TARA AI assistant and innovative Agentic Travel Flows that automate complex booking and management tasks. By integrating AI at the core, ixigo aims to provide users with proactive, personalized travel support before, during, and after their journeys, effectively simplifying the complex travel planning process.

Reimagining the Travel Journey with AI

Unlike traditional travel apps that merely add AI as an external layer, ixigo’s redesigned platform has been rebuilt from the ground up to be AI-native. Announced at the company’s ixigo NEXT event, the new interface is designed to be deeply intuitive, allowing users to express their travel needs naturally through voice, text, or tap, rather than navigating static menus and filters.

The Evolution of TARA

At the center of this transformation is the reinvented TARA, ixigo’s multimodal AI assistant. TARA acts as a conversational core, capable of handling complex, intent-driven requests such as planning multi-city itineraries or generating personalized trip ideas based on user history and context. TARA is context-aware, meaning it understands the user’s specific stage in the planning process and provides relevant, proactive assistance, even when the user is not actively interacting with the app.

Introducing Trip Mode and Agentic Flows

The update introduces two major features designed to reduce travel anxiety: Trip Mode and Agentic Travel Flows. Trip Mode centralizes all post-booking data, including boarding passes, terminal details, and baggage updates, into a single, real-time view. Simultaneously, Agentic Travel Flows utilize AI agents to autonomously manage critical tasks in the background, such as monitoring flight delays, coordinating with hotels for check-in readiness, and facilitating automated refunds.

Leadership Vision

Reflecting on the launch, Aloke Bajpai, Group CEO, and Rajnish Kumar, Group Co-CEO, emphasized that the future of travel is agent-led. By leveraging two decades of travel intelligence, ixigo is moving beyond simple bookings to create an actionable, end-to-end travel companion. This strategic reinvention aims to provide travellers with greater peace of mind through seamless, proactive support throughout the entire duration of their trips.
