Larsen & Toubro: Signs Ultra-Mega Gas Project Contract in Middle East

Larsen & Toubro (L&T) Energy Hydrocarbon Onshore (LTEH Onshore) has secured a contract for an ultra-mega gas compression facilities project in the Middle East. The project involves comprehensive EPC services for gas compression plants and associated utilities. This strategic win underscores L&T’s extensive experience in complex hydrocarbon projects and its capability to deliver integrated solutions for challenging applications, reinforcing its position in the global energy sector.

L&T Secures Major Middle East Gas Compression Project

Larsen & Toubro announced today that its Energy Hydrocarbon Onshore (LTEH Onshore) division has signed a significant contract for an ultra-mega gas compression facilities project in the Middle East. This contract follows a letter of award received in FY26.

Project Scope and Capabilities

The project encompasses the end-to-end engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) of advanced gas compression plants. This includes crucial elements such as gas inlet facilities, sophisticated gas compression systems, condensate and produced water handling systems, propane refrigeration systems, and all necessary associated utilities. These facilities will be developed as new onshore installations designed to process sour gas, adhering strictly to applicable client standards, codes, and project requirements.

Power Infrastructure Support

To support the power demands of these new gas compression plants, L&T’s Power Transmission & Distribution business will undertake the execution of two 230 kV extra-high-voltage substations. This integrated approach highlights L&T’s comprehensive capabilities across the energy infrastructure value chain.

Strategic Importance and L&T’s Expertise

Commenting on the contract, E S Sathyanarayanan, Senior Vice President & Head of L&T Energy Hydrocarbon Onshore, stated, “The contract marks the start of a strategically important project that will add significant gas compression capacity and utility infrastructure. The project draws on our extensive experience in executing large and complex hydrocarbon facilities and reinforces our capability to deliver integrated solutions for challenging sour gas applications.”

LTEH Onshore is recognized as one of India’s largest EPC businesses, known for delivering comprehensive Lump Sum Turnkey solutions across upstream, midstream, and downstream hydrocarbon sectors. The division boasts a strong track record of executing projects globally, including refinery expansions, petrochemical complexes, gas processing plants, fertiliser plants, LNG terminals, and cross-country pipelines.
