KRBL: Q1 FY27 Revenue Declines 6% Amidst Strong Domestic Growth

KRBL Reports Q1 FY27 Financial Highlights

KRBL Limited has presented its Unaudited Financial Results for the first quarter (Q1) ended June 30, 2026. The company’s overall revenue experienced a 6% year-on-year decline, totaling ₹1,496 crore in Q1 FY27. This decrease was largely attributed to a reduction in export revenue, which fell by 47%. In contrast, domestic revenue demonstrated strong momentum, growing by 14% year-on-year to ₹1,221 crore. The company’s focus remains on strengthening its position in the domestic market.

Profitability and Operational Performance

Gross Profit for Q1 FY27 stood at ₹566 crore, marking a significant increase of 36% year-on-year, with a Gross Margin of 36.3% compared to 25.7% in Q1 FY26. EBITDA also saw a substantial year-on-year improvement of 65%, reaching ₹372 crore, with an EBITDA margin of 23.8%. Profit After Tax (PAT) surged by 73% year-on-year to ₹261 crore, resulting in a PAT margin of 16.7%.

Market Leadership and Strategy

The presentation underscores KRBL’s continued market leadership, particularly in the basmati rice segment. The company holds significant market share in both General Trade (37%) and Modern Trade (38%), with a dominant 41% share in E-commerce. KRBL’s strategic pillars include democratizing distribution, remodeling its supply chain, investing in the brand, and foraying into new products and categories. The launch of ‘India Gate light & fluffy POHA’ represents a significant step in expanding its product portfolio into new breakfast staples.

Balance Sheet and Financial Position

KRBL maintains a strong balance sheet with a Net Worth of ₹6,070 crore as of June 30, 2026. Total Inventory was valued at ₹2,944 crore. The company demonstrates low debt dependence, with Net Bank Borrowings reported at (₹1,841 crore), indicating a healthy cash position. The Current Ratio stands at 6 times, and the Interest Coverage Ratio is robust at 448 days, reflecting the company’s solid financial discipline and stability.

International Business Performance

In the international business segment, revenue for Q1 FY27 was ₹244 crore, showing a decline of 50% year-on-year. This was primarily due to lower exports to the Middle East region. However, exports to other regions saw a significant increase of 37%, indicating diversification in export markets. The company continues to focus on global demand for quality basmati rice, leveraging its position as India’s leading rice exporter.
