Strong Start to FY27
KPI Green Energy Limited has commenced the financial year FY26-’27 with robust performance, reporting a healthy growth in revenue and operating profit. The company’s total income for the first quarter ended June 30, 2026, stood at INR710 crore, marking a 16% increase compared to INR614 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year. This growth is attributed to consistent execution and a diversified renewable portfolio.
Profitability and Margins
EBITDA for the quarter rose by 21% year-on-year to INR262 crore, with EBITDA margins improving to 37% from 35%. Profit after tax for the quarter was INR95 crore, compared to INR111 crore in Q1 FY26. The company explained that the year-on-year movement in PAT reflects higher depreciation and finance costs associated with the rapidly growing asset base. Cash profit, however, grew by 6% to INR176 crore.
Capacity Expansion and Operational Highlights
As of June 30, 2026, KPI Green’s total renewable portfolio reached approximately 6.94 gigawatts, a 71% increase from 4.06 gigawatts a year ago. This comprises an installed capacity of 1.87 gigawatts and a work-in-progress capacity of 5.07 gigawatts. The company commissioned 0.85 gigawatt of capacity during the year and secured new orders for 2.88 gigawatts. The IPP portfolio now stands at 2.57 gigawatts, and the CPP segment at 4.37 gigawatts.
Strategic Initiatives and Future Outlook
KPI Green is focusing on strengthening its IPP portfolio, expanding its CPP business, and building capabilities in new growth segments such as Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), green hydrogen, and energy trading. The company also highlighted its international expansion efforts, including an MOU in Botswana for 5 gigawatts of renewable energy and a solar power project in the UAE integrated with a battery energy storage system.
