JSW Steel: Reports 3% YoY Growth in August 2026 Crude Steel Production

JSW Steel has announced its consolidated crude steel production figures for August 2026, reaching 24.65 Lakh tonnes. This represents a 3% year-on-year growth compared to the same period in 2025. Indian operations contributed significantly with 23.87 Lakh tonnes, achieving a capacity utilisation of 88% for the month.

JSW Steel Reports August Production Growth

JSW Steel announced its consolidated crude steel production for the month of August 2026, totaling 24.65 Lakh tonnes. This figure signifies a 3% increase compared to the production recorded in August 2025. The company’s Indian operations were a key driver, producing 23.87 Lakh tonnes and operating at a capacity utilisation of 88% during the month.

Production Break-up

The detailed production figures reveal that Indian operations produced 23.87 Lakh tonnes in August 2026, an increase from 22.95 Lakh tonnes in August 2025, marking a 4% year-on-year growth. JSW Steel USA – Ohio contributed 0.78 Lakh tonnes, showing a decrease of 11% year-on-year from 0.88 Lakh tonnes.

The steel business undertaking of Bhushan Power and Steel Limited (BPSL), a subsidiary, was transferred on a slump-sale basis to JSW-JFE Steel Limited in March 2026. The production figures for this transferred undertaking have been adjusted in the previous year’s numbers for comparison purposes.
