JSW Energy’s Strong Q2 FY27 Performance

JSW Energy Limited has disclosed robust financial performance for the second quarter of Fiscal Year 2027 (Q2 FY27), with revenues climbing 24% year-on-year to ₹6,658 crore. Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation, and Amortization (EBITDA) also saw a significant increase of 23% year-on-year, totaling ₹3,907 crore. This growth was underpinned by strong operational performance and substantial capacity additions.

Operational Highlights and Capacity Expansion

Net generation for Q2 FY27 grew by 17% year-on-year to 17.5 billion units, driven by a healthy capacity addition of 1.4 GW of organic renewable capacity commissioned since April. The company’s total installed capacity now stands at over 15.1 GW, with renewables accounting for approximately 61% of the portfolio. Additional acquisitions, such as the Maruti Clean Coal & Power, have further bolstered the company’s capacity and financial standing.

Financial Strength and Outlook

Profit After Tax (PAT) for the quarter was ₹1,141 crore, up 38% year-on-year, with PAT attributable to shareholders rising 50% YoY to ₹1,056 crore. JSW Energy reiterates its confidence in achieving its growth targets, supported by a strong pipeline and strategic initiatives aimed at securing firm and reliable power supply.

Strategic Themes and Future Growth

The company’s strategy is aligned with three key sector themes: strong demand driven by a resilient economy, the national priority of energy security, and the shift towards firm, dispatchable power. JSW Energy is well-positioned to capitalize on these trends, with a clear growth runway towards its 30 GW target by 2030 and beyond. Investments in renewables, thermal power, and energy storage are key components of its long-term expansion plans.
