JSW Energy Reports Record Annual EBITDA and Significant Capacity Expansion in FY26

JSW Energy has announced its audited financial results for the quarter and year ended March 31, 2026. The company achieved a record annual EBITDA of ₹11,041 crore, marking an 81% year-on-year increase. Driven by the successful integration of strategic assets and a disciplined capacity build-out, JSW Energy added 2.6 GW of new capacity during the year, bringing its total operational portfolio to 13,454 MW.

Robust Annual Financial Performance

For the full financial year 2026, JSW Energy delivered a strong performance with a total revenue of ₹19,878 crore, reflecting a 57% increase compared to the previous year. The company’s PAT reached ₹2,762 crore, a 39% increase, while cash profit after tax rose to ₹4,359 crore. This growth was underpinned by a significant increase in net generation, which surged 58% year-on-year to reach 51.3 billion units (BUs).

Operational Highlights for the Final Quarter

During the January-March 2026 quarter, the company’s power sales volume climbed by 48% year-on-year to 11.7 BUs. This growth was driven by a 68% increase in renewable generation and a 43% rise in thermal generation. The company’s EBITDA for the quarter stood at ₹2,602 crore, a 72% year-on-year increase, supported by enhanced operational efficiencies and the seamless integration of key assets.

Strategic Growth and Digital Transformation

JSW Energy has successfully advanced its Strategy 3.0, with a clear roadmap to reach 30 GW of capacity by 2030. The current portfolio includes 13,454 MW of installed capacity, with an additional 14,048 MW under construction or with signed power purchase agreements. The company also reached a milestone by commissioning its first Green Hydrogen (GH2) plant and a 5 GWh battery assembly plant, signaling a shift toward diversified energy solutions.

In a move to enhance operational oversight, the company inaugurated an Integrated Digital Command Centre in Mumbai. This facility utilizes cutting-edge AI and advanced analytics to provide real-time monitoring and KPI tracking across more than 90 operational sites, ensuring optimal performance and capex control.

Sustainability and Future Outlook

The company maintains a strong commitment to its 2050 carbon neutrality goal. Demonstrating leadership in sustainability, JSW Energy has achieved an ESG rating of 82/100 from S&P Global (DJSI). Future focus remains on maintaining a de-risked business model through diversified fuel sources and a strong offtaker profile, supported by healthy receivables and disciplined capital allocation.
