Initially, the Commissioner (Appeals), CGST & CEX, Belapur, Navi Mumbai, had rejected the company’s appeal on January 15, 2025. Subsequently, JSW Dulux filed an appeal with CESTAT, Mumbai. The CESTAT, in its Final Order No. A/85956/2026 dated July 31, 2026, received by the company on August 17, 2026, has set aside the impugned Order. This ruling allows the appeal in favor of the company, effectively setting aside the entire demand aggregating to ₹32,41,768.
