The appellate authority has ruled in favor of the company, setting aside the demand, marking a significant victory for JK Lakshmi Cement.

Positive Outcome in GST Appeal

JK Lakshmi Cement Limited has announced a favorable decision in an appeal concerning a Goods and Services Tax (GST) matter. This update follows earlier communications regarding orders received from the Office of the Joint Commissioner of State Tax, Durg Division, Chhattisgarh. These prior orders had raised a demand for tax, interest, and penalty primarily related to the financial year 2019-20.

Details of the Demand

The original demand, raised for FY 2019-20, comprised a tax demand of ₹879.15 Lakhs, interest of ₹659.35 Lakhs, and a penalty of ₹87.91 Lakhs. These demands were largely associated with the Reverse Charge Mechanism (RCM) on inter-state purchases, disallowance of Input Tax Credit, and other related matters. The company had formally challenged these orders before the appropriate appellate authority.

Appellate Authority’s Ruling

In a significant development, the appeal filed by JK Lakshmi Cement Limited has been decided in its favor. The appellate authority issued an order on 11.06.2026, which consequently set aside the entire demand previously raised under the earlier orders. This ruling means that the demand for tax, interest, and penalty for the specified period is no longer applicable to the company.

Financial Implications

The company has stated that there are no expected financial implications on the listed company as a result of this communication. Furthermore, no penalties or restrictions were imposed by the authority in relation to this matter. The action taken by the listed company with respect to the communication was to pursue the appeal, which has now concluded successfully.
