ITC: Completes Acquisition of Century Pulp and Paper Business

ITC Limited has announced the completion of its acquisition of the pulp and paper business of Aditya Birla Real Estate Limited, operating under the name ‘Century Pulp and Paper’. This transaction was executed on a slump sale basis, including all associated assets, liabilities, contracts, and employees. The acquisition aligns with ITC’s strategic growth initiatives and expands its presence in the paper industry. This development follows previous correspondence dated 31st March 2025 and 17th December 2025.

Strategic Acquisition Finalized

ITC Limited confirmed today the successful completion of its acquisition of the pulp and paper business previously operated by Aditya Birla Real Estate Limited. This business unit, widely recognized as ‘Century Pulp and Paper’, has now been fully integrated into ITC’s operations. The acquisition was conducted as a going concern on a slump sale basis, encompassing the transfer of all related assets, liabilities, ongoing contracts, and the existing workforce.

Transaction Details

The formal completion of this significant transaction occurred on 1st August, 2026. This strategic move is in accordance with the Business Transfer Agreement that was executed on 31st March, 2025. Previous communications regarding this acquisition were sent on 31st March, 2025 and 17th December, 2025. The integration is expected to bolster ITC’s position in the pulp and paper sector.
