IMFA: Receives SEBI Warning Over Employee Insider Trading Violations

Indian Metals & Ferro Alloys Limited (IMFA) has received an administrative warning letter from SEBI concerning insider trading violations by designated middle management employees. The trading occurred between October and December 2023. While SEBI’s letter is cautionary and imposes no fines, penalties, or restrictions, IMFA has taken necessary action against the concerned employees.

SEBI Administrative Warning Issued to IMFA

Indian Metals & Ferro Alloys Limited (IMFA) has been issued an administrative warning by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) following an investigation into trading activities. The investigation, which focused on trades executed between October 2023 and December 2023, identified that certain designated persons within the company’s middle management group engaged in securities trading in contravention of SEBI (Prohibition of Insider Trading) Regulations, 2015.

Company’s Response and SEBI’s Stance

IMFA confirmed receiving the warning letter on August 4, 2026. The company stated that it has taken necessary actions to address the concerns raised by SEBI regarding the designated employees. Importantly, the SEBI letter is described as cautionary in nature and does not impose any fines, penalties, or financial or operational restrictions on IMFA.
