Hero MotoCorp Appoints Sachin Agrawal as New Chief Technology Officer

Hero MotoCorp has announced the appointment of Mr. Sachin Agrawal as the company’s new Chief Technology Officer, effective May 21, 2026. Mr. Agrawal, a seasoned veteran with over 29 years of experience in automotive R&D, will spearhead the company’s next phase of technological transformation. He succeeds Mr. Vikram Kasbekar, who will continue his tenure on the Board as an Executive Director.

Strategic Leadership Transition

Hero MotoCorp is set to undergo a leadership shift within its technology division. Starting May 21, 2026, Mr. Sachin Agrawal will assume the role of Chief Technology Officer (CTO). Current CTO Mr. Vikram Kasbekar will step down from the role but will remain a vital member of the leadership team, continuing his service as an Executive Director on the Board.

Focus on R&D and Future Mobility

In his new capacity, Mr. Agrawal will oversee R&D operations at both the Hero Centre for Innovation and Technology (CIT) and the Hero Tech Centre Germany (TCG). His strategic focus will be to accelerate the company’s efforts in electrification, next-generation mobility solutions, and alternative fuels, aiming to drive a future-ready innovation agenda.

Industry Expertise and Background

Mr. Agrawal brings over 29 years of extensive experience in automotive R&D to his new role. Prior to this appointment, he served as Executive Vice President & Head – R&D and Technology at VE Commercial Vehicles, a joint venture between Volvo Group and Eicher Motors. His career trajectory includes significant contributions to global engineering, product development, and powertrain engineering. An alumnus of IIT Bombay and a Leadership Fellow from Carnegie Mellon University, Mr. Agrawal is recognized for building high-performing teams and fostering a culture of intellectual property creation and AI/ML integration in modern vehicle ecosystems.
