At a board meeting held on September 16, 2026, the company approved the appointment of Shri Sanjeev Kumar, IAS (DIN: 03600655), as a Director and its new Managing Director. This appointment is designated to be as Key Managerial Personnel of the Company, in line with the Companies Act, 2013.
Effective Date and Tenure
Shri Sanjeev Kumar’s appointment as Director and Managing Director is effective from September 09, 2026, which is also the date he assumed charge. His role as Managing Director will continue until further orders from the Government of Gujarat. This tenure is capped at a maximum period of five (5) years from the effective date, subject to necessary approvals, including those from the Members of the Company.
Cessation of Previous Director
The company also took note of the cessation of Shri Rajkumar Beniwal, IAS (DIN: 07195658) as the Managing Director and a Director. This cessation is effective from September 09, 2026, following his relinquishment of charge and resignation on the same date, consequent to a notification from the Government of Gujarat.
Background of Appointee
Shri Sanjeev Kumar, IAS, is currently serving as the Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister of Gujarat and is a 1998-batch officer of the Indian Administrative Service from the Gujarat cadre. He holds a B.Tech. (Hons.) from IIT Kharagpur and an M.P.A. from the University of Minnesota, USA. With over 28 years in public administration, he brings extensive experience across various sectors including finance, energy, petrochemicals, and environmental governance.
