Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers & Chemicals Limited (GNFC) has announced a change in its leadership. Shri Sanjeev Kumar, IAS, has been assigned the additional charge of Managing Director, effective September 09, 2026. This appointment follows the transfer of the previous Managing Director, Shri Rajkumar Beniwal, IAS. The company is also initiating statutory procedures for Shri Sanjeev Kumar’s appointment as an Additional Director and Key Managerial Personnel.
Key Leadership Transition at GNFC
Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers & Chemicals Limited (GNFC) has formally notified a significant change in its top management and directorate. Effective September 09, 2026, Shri Sanjeev Kumar, IAS (DIN: 03600655), who is currently the Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister of Gujarat, has been assigned the additional charge of the post of Managing Director of the Company.
Resignation and New Appointment
This change comes as the former Managing Director, Shri Rajkumar Beniwal, IAS (DIN: 07195658), has relinquished his charge. The Government of Gujarat, through the General Administration Department, issued a notification on September 5, 2026, formally assigning Shri Sanjeev Kumar the additional responsibility. Shri Sanjeev Kumar has officially taken over the duties of Managing Director from September 09, 2026.
Directorate Changes Underway
Concurrently, GNFC is proceeding with the necessary statutory procedures to appoint Shri Sanjeev Kumar, IAS, as an Additional Director and Managing Director. This proposal will be presented to the Board of Directors for consideration following a recommendation from the Nomination and Remuneration Committee. The company has confirmed that Shri Sanjeev Kumar is not debarred from holding such an office by any SEBI order.
