Grasim Eyes Significant Revenue Growth by FY27

Grasim Industries has announced its strategic outlook, projecting a consolidated revenue of approximately ₹2 lakh crore by Fiscal Year 2027 (FY27). This ambitious target represents nearly a doubling of its revenue from five years ago and positions Grasim as a significant example of a trusted institution scaling with clarity and purpose.

Strategic Positioning for India’s Growth

The company’s Chairman emphasized Grasim’s alignment with India’s growth trajectory, highlighting its presence at the intersection of key growth vectors such as housing, infrastructure, consumption, financial inclusion, digital commerce, sustainability, and clean energy. The theme for the year, “Built on Trust. Scale with Purpose”, encapsulates Grasim’s enduring foundation and its forward-looking approach.

Diversified Business Performance

In FY26, Grasim demonstrated resilience by building on its diversified strengths, advancing in newer growth businesses, and maintaining focus on prudent capital allocation and operational excellence. Key business segments contributing to this outlook include:

  • Building Materials: Led by UltraTech Cement, which achieved 200 million tonnes per annum of grey cement capacity, and Birla Opus, which secured a 10% revenue market share in decorative paints within two years. Birla Pivot’s B2B e-commerce platform for building materials surpassed its annual revenue guidance of ₹8,500 crore.
  • Cellulosic Fibres: Achieved its highest-ever revenue, with specialty fibres now contributing 21%. The business is investing nearly ₹4,000 crore to expand Lyocell fibre capacity.
  • Chemicals: Maintained its position as India’s largest chlor-alkali producer with a resilient performance in a dynamic environment.
  • Financial Services: Aditya Birla Capital is identified as a key platform, strengthening its capital base through a ₹4,000 crore preferential issue and attracting ₹2,750 crore investment from Advent International in its housing finance arm.
  • Renewables: Aditya Birla Renewables is rapidly expanding, targeting around 10 GW capacity and potentially scaling to 20 GW and beyond, with a recent acquisition of Sprng Energy adding about 5 GW of contracted renewable capacity.

Sustainability and Shareholder Value

Grasim reiterated its commitment to responsible and sustainable growth, embedding sustainability across its operations. The company also approved a dividend of ₹10 per share, marking 63 consecutive years of uninterrupted dividend payments. Over the past five years, Grasim has invested nearly ₹74,000 crore in capital expenditure.

The company’s next phase of growth is expected to be driven by capabilities in digital tools, analytics, automation, and strong people capabilities, with ‘Execution’ identified as the key differentiator.
