Strategic Expansion in Indore
Global Health Limited, known for its Medanta network, is set to bolster its healthcare infrastructure in Indore. The company has entered into a Business Transfer Agreement to acquire a 79-bedded oncology hospital currently operated by the Asian Institute of Oncology Private Limited. By adding this facility to its existing network, Medanta aims to achieve seamless operational synergies, as the target site is situated a mere 500 meters away from its current operations.
Transaction Details and Financials
The total consideration for the acquisition is Rs. 30 crores, which will be settled in cash. The funding for this expansion is planned through a combination of internal accruals and debt funding. As of March 31, 2026, Medanta operates with a total capacity of 3,579 beds. This acquisition represents a key step in filling the existing specialty service gap in the region.
Future Outlook
The target hospital is purpose-built to focus on cancer care, which will enhance the company’s portfolio of tertiary and quaternary care services. While the long-stop date for the transaction is September 30, 2026, the company expects to complete the process well ahead of this schedule. The acquisition remains subject to customary approvals and will result in Global Health Limited assuming 100% control over the business undertaking.
