GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals has bolstered its senior management team with the inclusion of Vinay Subramanian. Effective April 20, 2026, Subramanian assumes the role of Commercial Head – Oncology. Based in Mumbai, he will play a pivotal role in steering the company’s strategic direction within the competitive oncology landscape.
Extensive Industry Expertise
Subramanian brings a wealth of experience, spanning over 24 years across the pharmaceutical, life sciences, healthcare devices, and medical technology industries. Prior to joining GSK, he served as the India Enabling leader at Roche Products India Pvt Ltd, where he held responsibility for the company’s immunotherapy portfolio and served as a member of their leadership team.
His impressive professional background includes significant tenures at GE Healthcare, Becton Dickinson & Company, and Pfizer. Throughout his career, he has demonstrated a consistent ability to drive revenue growth and expand market reach. Notably, during his time at GE Healthcare, he was instrumental in developing business partnerships that led to the establishment of new Cancer Care Centers (CCCs) and day-care facilities across India and the South Asia region.
Academic Credentials
Subramanian holds an MBA in General Management from Annamalai University and has completed specialized executive education at the UC Berkeley-Haas School of Business and the GE Crotonville Leadership Academy. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in science from the University of Mysore, underscoring a strong foundation for his new leadership role at GSK.
