Escorts Kubota Introduces New Premium Tractor Models

New MU4502 and MU5002 Tractors Launched

Escorts Kubota Limited announced the launch of two new tractor models: the Kubota MU4502 at 45 horsepower (HP) and the Kubota MU5002 at 50 HP. These additions are set to bolster the company’s premium utility tractor offerings in the 41-50 HP segment, which is identified as one of the largest and fastest-growing in the Indian tractor market. A significant differentiator for these new models is the introduction of an industry-first 8-year transferable warranty, a testament to the company’s high confidence in the build quality and operational longevity of its products. This warranty remains with the tractor even upon change of ownership, enhancing resale value and farmer assurance.

Advanced Features and Technology

Both the MU4502 and MU5002 are powered by the proven Kubota KQP4 Japanese engine. They feature an advanced 12F + 4R Multi-Speed Synchromesh Gearbox designed to offer farmers optimal speed selection for various tasks, thereby increasing operational efficiency and reducing completion time. The tractors also incorporate Pompa Lift with DSS (Dual Stabilizer Spring) Technology, which ensures implement stability and consistent working depth, even on uneven terrain, leading to more uniform results. The design is inspired by Kubota’s global aesthetic, featuring full LED lighting for improved visibility and a premium look. Comfort features include a fully covered flat-deck platform, premium bucket seat, suspended pedals, and double-acting power steering, all aimed at operator comfort during long working hours. Balancer shaft technology is employed to minimize vibration.

Versatility and Target Market

These new tractors are positioned as versatile platforms capable of working with a wide array of primary and secondary tillage implements, seed drills, potato planters, mini round balers, and cultivators. They are suitable for major crops such as paddy, wheat, maize, pulses, and soyabean, and can also handle haulage and commercial tasks. A reverse power take-off (PTO) function supports specialized applications like rotavators and straw reapers. The tractors are recommended for landholdings of 5 acres and above and are available across India. Escorts Kubota operates three tractor brands: Farmtrac, Powertrac, and Kubota, catering to entry-premium, value, and premium segments respectively, with the MU4502 and MU5002 fitting into the premium Kubota brand lineup.

Executive Commentary on the Launch

Commenting on the launch, Nikhil Nanda, Chairman and Managing Director, Escorts Kubota Limited, stated that the 41-50 HP category is vital to the Indian tractor market, and these new models will strengthen the company’s position with a more comprehensive premium utility offering. He highlighted that the tractors are aimed at progressive farmers, those looking to upgrade, contract farming operators, and custom hiring businesses.

He emphasized that the KQP4 engine, combined with the advanced gearbox and DSS Technology, is designed to maintain low running costs and deliver dependable performance over a long working life.
