Delhivery Limited has announced the appointment of Kabir Ahmed Shakir as a Non-Executive Independent Director, effective immediately. Bringing over 35 years of global finance and business leadership experience, Shakir will also join the company’s Audit Committee. This appointment follows a board rejuvenation programme, which includes the upcoming departure of current board member Romesh Sobti, scheduled for June 30, 2026.

In a move to bolster its governance and strategic oversight, Delhivery has welcomed Kabir Ahmed Shakir to its Board of Directors. Shakir is a highly accomplished global finance leader, having previously served as the Global CFO of Tata Communications, where he led the organization to receive the ‘Turnaround Company of the Year’ award in March 2023. His career also spans 23 years at Unilever in senior finance roles across India and the UK.
Expertise and Industry Recognition
Shakir brings extensive experience across consumer, technology, and telecommunications sectors. His expertise has been widely recognized, with accolades including CFO of the Year awards from Businessworld (2023, 2024), CII (2023), and the Economic Times (2024). Beyond his financial acumen, he is expected to provide critical guidance on AI and technology initiatives as Delhivery continues to scale its digital logistics infrastructure.
Transition and Governance Updates
The appointment coincides with the conclusion of Delhivery’s board rejuvenation programme. The company also confirmed that Romesh Sobti will step down from the Board effective June 30, 2026. The management expressed deep gratitude to Sobti, particularly for his role as Chairman of the Audit Committee in enhancing the company’s internal financial controls and risk management frameworks.
