These systems, which support QR-coded tickets and common mobility cards, were inaugurated on April 8, 2026. This milestone marks another significant achievement for Datamatics, which has now successfully delivered its transit solutions across multiple major metro networks in India and international markets.
Strategic Transit Expansion
Datamatics has officially announced its role as the implementing partner for the Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) and mobile ticketing systems for Mumbai Metro Lines 2B and 9. The new infrastructure provides commuters with enhanced travel convenience through faster entry-exit processing and automated fare deduction capabilities. The system is designed to accommodate modern transit needs, including QR-coded tickets and common mobility cards.
Leadership in Urban Mobility
The project was formally inaugurated on April 8, 2026, by the Honorable Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Shri. Devendra Fadnavis, and the Honorable Deputy Chief Minister, Shri. Eknath Shinde. This project strengthens Datamatics’ presence in the Mumbai transit sector, building upon their existing work with Mumbai Metro Lines 2A and 7.
Global and Domestic Track Record
