Cyient Semiconductors has officially unveiled India’s first commercial GaN (Gallium Nitride) power IC family, featuring seven new devices with a 650V rating. Developed in collaboration with Navitas Semiconductor, this portfolio is designed to meet the growing demand for high-efficiency, high-power-density solutions in sectors such as AI data centers, e-mobility, and consumer electronics. The company expects to begin sampling these new power products by June 2026.
Advancing Power Semiconductor Technology
Cyient Semiconductors has achieved a major milestone in the domestic power semiconductor ecosystem by launching its first commercial GaN product family. These seven highly integrated power ICs are engineered to outperform traditional silicon devices by providing higher switching speeds, reduced conduction losses, and improved thermal efficiency. These performance improvements are essential for the next generation of power-intensive applications.
Strategic Collaboration for Local Supply
This product launch builds on a strategic partnership established in December 2025. By licensing Navitas’s proven GaN technology, Cyient Semiconductors is accelerating the adoption of high-performance solutions within the Indian market. The agreement serves two strategic purposes: facilitating the domestic availability of advanced power components and strengthening global supply chain resilience by serving as a second source for Navitas’s mass-produced devices.
Applications and Future Roadmap
The new 650V-rated portfolio is specifically targeted at high-growth markets, including AI data centers, telecommunications power systems, laptop and mobile adapters, and e-mobility charging platforms. Looking ahead, the company plans to further expand its portfolio by engaging with local OSAT partners. The phased roadmap aims to transition toward domestic manufacturing in India, reflecting the company’s commitment to the ‘Make in India’ initiative.
