Coal India: E-Auction Data Shows 39% Allocation in August 2026

Coal India Limited has released its provisional e-auction data for August 2026 and the cumulative period of April to August 2026. The company reported an offer of 210.66 lakh tonnes of coal and allocated 82.76 lakh tonnes, resulting in a 39% allocation for August. The average increase over the notified price for August was 59%. For the cumulative FY2026-27 period, CIL offered 1291.66 lakh tonnes and allocated 477.40 lakh tonnes, a 37% allocation, with a 46% increase over the notified price.

August 2026 E-Auction Performance

Coal India Limited (CIL) has submitted its provisional e-auction data for August 2026. During this period, subsidiaries of CIL offered a total of 210.66 lakh tonnes of coal. Out of this, 82.76 lakh tonnes were allocated, marking an allocation rate of 39%. The e-auction also saw an average increase over the notified price of 59% for the month. The highest allocation percentage of 100% was observed in the NCL and NEC subsidiaries.

Cumulative FY2026-27 E-Auction Data (Apr-Aug)

For the cumulative period of FY 2026-27, from April to August 2026, Coal India Limited offered a substantial 1291.66 lakh tonnes of coal. The total allocated quantity during these five months reached 477.40 lakh tonnes, resulting in a cumulative allocation of 37%. The average increase over the notified price for this cumulative period stood at 46%. Subsidiary NCL again achieved a 100% allocation, and NEC also reported a 100% allocation. MCL reported the highest cumulative allocation volume at 120.59 lakh tonnes.
