Chennai Petroleum Corporation Limited Q4 FY2025-26 Financial Results and Dividend Announcement

Chennai Petroleum Corporation Limited (CPCL) delivered robust results for the quarter ended March 31, 2026. The company achieved a crude throughput of 2.93 MMT with 112% capacity utilisation. Financial performance remained strong, with a quarterly Profit After Tax of ₹1,400 crore. Reflecting this success, the Board has recommended a final dividend of ₹54 per share, in addition to the ₹8 per share interim dividend already declared for the fiscal year.

Operational Excellence and Throughput

During the fourth quarter of the 2025-26 financial year, CPCL demonstrated high operational efficiency by achieving a crude throughput of 2.93 million metric tonnes (MMT). For the full fiscal year, the company processed 11.71 MMT, maintaining a consistent capacity utilisation rate of 112%. The firm also sustained a record-high distillate yield of approximately 80%, highlighting its commitment to energy efficiency and high-reliability plant operations.

Financial Highlights

The company reported strong financial growth driven by improved refining margins. For the quarter ended March 31, 2026, revenue stood at ₹20,455 crore. The Profit Before Tax (PBT) reached ₹1,890 crore, with a Profit After Tax (PAT) of ₹1,400 crore, significantly outperforming the previous year’s figures. On an annual basis, CPCL achieved a revenue of ₹78,611 crore and a PAT of ₹3,062 crore.

Enhanced Refining Margins

Profitability was bolstered by a substantial improvement in the Gross Refining Margin (GRM). The GRM for the final quarter reached US$ 13.75 per barrel, a significant increase from the US$ 6.22 per barrel recorded in the same period last year. The annual GRM stood at US$ 9.28 per barrel, compared to US$ 4.22 per barrel in the previous fiscal year.

Dividend Payout

In recognition of the company’s strong financial performance, the Board of Directors has recommended a final dividend of ₹54 per share (face value of ₹10). This is in addition to the interim dividend of ₹8 per share previously declared, demonstrating the company’s commitment to delivering consistent value to its shareholders.
