Chennai Meenakshi Multispeciality Hospital: Board Appoints New CEO, 3 Independent Directors

The Board of Directors of Chennai Meenakshi Multispeciality Hospital convened on August 11, 2026, to consider and approve several critical appointments and financial results. The meeting, which commenced at 11:30 AM and concluded at 3:15 PM, marked a significant step in the company’s strategic and governance evolution.

New Chief Executive Officer

A major decision was the appointment of Dr. Thanigai Vendan Moorrthy as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in a non-director capacity. Dr. Moorrthy’s appointment is effective from August 11, 2026, and he will serve for a term of five consecutive years. His extensive background as a Senior Anesthesiologist and Healthcare Executive with over 15 years of clinical and leadership experience is expected to drive operational excellence and strategic growth for the hospital.

Board Expansion with Independent Directors

Further strengthening the board’s oversight, three new Independent Directors have been appointed. These appointments are:

  • Mr. A F Simeon Telfer (DIN: 11879121), appointed as an Additional Non-Executive Independent Director.
  • Mr. R V Ramanuja Bharathi (DIN: 08553270), appointed as an Additional Non-Executive Independent Director.
  • Ms. Sindu Chawla (DIN: 11879201), appointed as an Additional Non-Executive Independent Director.

Each of these appointments is effective from August 11, 2026, for a term of five consecutive years. Their tenure is subject to the approval of the shareholders at the ensuing Annual General Meeting and will not be liable to retire by rotation. Committee Reconstitution

Consequent to the appointment of new directors, the Board has also approved the reconstitution of its key committees, effective from August 11, 2026:

Audit Committee

The reconstituted Audit Committee will include Mr. M. Karunakaran (Chairman), Mr. A F Simeon Telfer (Member), and Mrs. Jayanthi Radhakrishnan (Member).

Stakeholders Relationship Committee

The Stakeholders Relationship Committee will now comprise Ms. Sindu Chawla (Chairman), Mr. R V Ramanuja Bharathi (Member), and Mr. Edward Prabhakar (Member).

Financial Results

The Board also considered and approved the unaudited Financial Results for the quarter ended June 30, 2026, along with the Limited Review Report submitted by the Statutory Auditors. These results, enclosed as Annexure A, indicate the company’s financial performance during the period.
