Central Bank of India Announces Strategic Senior Management Reorganization

Central Bank of India has officially announced a significant restructuring of its senior management team, effective April 1, 2026. This leadership transition includes the elevation of nine executives to the roles of Chief General Manager and General Manager, reflecting the bank’s commitment to strengthening its operational leadership and long-term strategic goals.

Leadership Appointments

As part of its organizational growth strategy, Central Bank of India has promoted nine experienced banking professionals. Among those elevated to Chief General Manager are Shri Sohail Ahmad, Shri Kushal Pal, and Smt. Kavita Thakur. These leaders bring over three decades of banking expertise to their new senior-most management positions, having previously steered key portfolios like Emerging Business, Human Capital Management, and Compliance.

General Management Promotions

In addition to the Chief General Manager appointments, the bank has promoted six executives to the rank of General Manager. The newly appointed General Managers include Shri Pramod Mishra, Shri Birendra Mehta, Dr. Himanshu Gupta, Shri Raj Kokil Singh, Shri Suresh Singh, and Shri Anil Kumar. These individuals bring diverse experience ranging from 13 to 35 years in banking, spanning recovery, MSME, and regional zonal management roles.

Strategic Outlook

This leadership shuffle is aimed at streamlining the bank’s administrative and operational capabilities across various zones and departments, including the Bhopal Zone, North Mumbai Region, and the Guwahati Zonal office. By leveraging the deep industry knowledge and academic qualifications of these officers—many of whom are Certified Associates of the Indian Institute of Banking and Finance—the bank intends to enhance its service delivery and governance standards effectively.
