Central Bank of India has received a notice of a proposed bank strike from the United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU). The strike is scheduled for September 11th, 28th to 30th, 2026, and a continuous strike from October 26th, 2026. The bank is implementing necessary measures to ensure smooth functioning of its branches and offices during the potential industrial action.
Proposed Bank Strike Action
Central Bank of India has been formally notified by the United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU) regarding a series of proposed bank strikes. The UFBU, an umbrella organization representing seven major bank unions including AIBEA, AIBOC, BEFI, NCBE, AIBOA, INBEF, and INBOC, has signaled their intent to proceed with industrial action in support of their demands.
Strike Schedule and Bank’s Preparations
The notified strike dates include September 11th, 2026, followed by a three-day strike from September 28th to 30th, 2026. Furthermore, a continuous strike is planned to commence on October 26th, 2026. In response to this notice, Central Bank of India is undertaking all necessary steps as per existing guidelines to ensure the continued smooth functioning of its banking operations, including branches and offices, should the strike materialize.
