Full-Year Financial Performance
For the financial year 2025-26, Carborundum Universal reported a consolidated revenue of ₹5,149 crore, representing a 6.5% increase compared to the prior year. The company’s standalone business demonstrated robust growth, with annual sales totaling ₹3,024 crore, marking an 8.6% improvement. Standalone profit after tax increased significantly to ₹416 crore, up from ₹322 crore in the previous year.
Quarterly Highlights
In the fourth quarter (Q4) ending March 31, 2026, standalone sales stood at ₹845 crore, reflecting a strong growth of 23.0% compared to the same period in the previous year. Consolidated sales for the quarter were ₹1,383 crore, representing a 15.4% growth over Q4 of the previous year, driven largely by significant gains in the Ceramics and Electrominerals segments.
Strategic Restructuring and Exceptional Items
During the fiscal year, the CUMI group initiated a strategic closure of two overseas subsidiaries: CUMI AWUKO Abrasives GmbH in Germany and Foskor Zirconia (Pty) Ltd in South Africa. These decisions, driven by continued underperformance and challenging market conditions, resulted in exceptional pre-tax expenses of ₹135 crore. The company has moved to a realisable value basis for these assets to focus on its sustainable core operations.
Dividend Recommendation
Reflecting confidence in its financial position, the Board of Directors has recommended a final dividend of ₹2.50 per share (250% on a face value of ₹1). When combined with the interim dividend of ₹1.50 per share already paid in February 2026, the total dividend for the year aggregates to ₹4.00 per share. The 72nd Annual General Meeting is scheduled for August 7, 2026, with the record date for the final dividend set for July 31, 2026.
