Canara Bank Announces Key Changes in Senior Management

Canara Bank has officially announced significant leadership transitions within its senior management team, effective May 1, 2026. Shri Arun Kumar Mishra has been promoted to the position of Chief General Manager and Circle Head for the Bengaluru Circle. Simultaneously, the bank bids farewell to Shri Purshottam Chand, who served as the Chief General Manager of the Treasury Wing in Mumbai, following his retirement from the institution.

Leadership Transition at Bengaluru Circle

The bank has elevated Shri Arun Kumar Mishra to the role of Chief General Manager, Circle Head of Bengaluru Circle, effective May 1, 2026. Shri Mishra has been an integral part of the organization since joining on March 9, 1998. With a background in B.Sc (Nursing) and professional certifications including JAIIB and Composite Insurance Certification, he brings extensive experience across various levels of bank operations, including Head Office, Regional Offices, and branch management.

Retirement in Treasury Wing

As part of the leadership reshuffle, the bank confirmed that Shri Purshottam Chand, previously the Chief General Manager of the Treasury Wing in Mumbai, has ceased his role effective May 1, 2026. His departure follows the successful completion of his tenure and his attainment of superannuation. The institution expressed the change as part of its ongoing management realignment.
