BlackBuck Limited Q2 FY27 Earnings Highlights

BlackBuck Limited has released its financial results for the second quarter and first half of the fiscal year 2027, indicating a period of substantial growth and improved profitability.

Strong Financial Performance in Q2 FY27

The company reported total income of ₹253 crores for the quarter, marking a significant 51% year-on-year growth. This strong top-line performance is attributed to the company’s robust business model, which focuses on solving truck operator problems and improving their operational efficiency and revenue.

EBITDA for the quarter stood at ₹51 crores, a 40% increase compared to the previous year. Profit after tax also demonstrated healthy growth, rising by 42% year-on-year to ₹41.4 crores. These figures reflect the compounding nature of the company’s results, driven by industry tailwinds and a high-quality product offering.

Key Operational Metrics and Strategy

BlackBuck highlighted key performance indicators (KPIs) that underpin its success. The company recorded approximately 9 lakh transacting customers, a 13% year-on-year growth. Power users, who utilize more than two services, increased by about 20%. The Gross Transaction Value (GTV) for tolling, a significant part of the payments business, grew by a healthy 17% year-on-year to ₹7,070 crores this quarter.

The company’s strategy continues to revolve around solving truck operator challenges through a variety of offerings, supported by a strong business model and a widespread distribution network of 10,000 touchpoints. This approach aims to enhance user engagement and solidify customer loyalty on the platform.

Revenue and Contribution Margin

Revenue from operations grew by approximately 56% year-on-year for the quarter. Net revenues, representing actual earnings, were around ₹183 crores, up nearly 35% year-on-year. The contribution margin remains strong, consistently above 90% across core and growth businesses, reflecting the quality of its revenue streams.

Adjusted EBITDA saw a growth of close to 30%, reaching ₹55 crores. This growth incorporates ongoing investments in newer and emerging businesses, balancing EBITDA scaling with strategic expansion.

Growth Business and Telematics Update

Growth businesses, including the loads and vehicle finance segments, experienced substantial year-on-year growth of approximately 2.7x (166% growth). Sequential quarter growth for these segments was around 25%.

The telematics business is also scaling significantly, with new device sales reaching new highs. While this revenue is recognized over time, the deferred revenue on the balance sheet continues to increase, indicating future revenue streams. The company is focusing on AI for matchmaking and productivity improvements, particularly in scaling super loads into newer cities.

Outlook and Future Investments

BlackBuck is on track to achieve its EBITDA break-even target for the year, driven by its partner-led vehicle finance model. The company continues to invest in its core business and the super loads segment, aiming for long-term growth and market share expansion. Investments in customer acquisition, though impacting short-term EBITDA, are expected to yield higher long-term returns.
