The company has opted not to contest these penalties.

Bharti Airtel Limited has informed the exchanges about two separate penalties imposed by the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) amounting to a total of ₹3,13,000. These penalties are a consequence of alleged violations related to subscriber verification norms, as identified during Customer Application Form Audits (CAF Audits).

Karnataka LSA
In the Karnataka Licensed Service Area (LSA), Bharti Airtel has been fined ₹2,13,000 for alleged violations of subscriber verification norms. The notice was received on August 31, 2026. The DoT conducts periodic CAF Audits to ensure compliance with licensing terms and conditions, which mandate adequate customer verification before enrollment.
Maharashtra LSA
Similarly, the Maharashtra LSA has imposed a penalty of ₹1,00,000 on Bharti Airtel for similar alleged violations of subscriber verification norms. This notice was also received on August 31, 2026. The alleged non-compliance pertains to the period of June 2026 CAF Audit.
Company’s Response
Bharti Airtel has stated that the maximum financial impact from these actions is limited to the extent of the penalties levied. The company has decided not to contest these penalties and intends to pay them. This disclosure is made in compliance with SEBI Listing Regulations.
