For the financial year ended March 31, 2026, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) reported a standalone revenue from operations of ₹5,22,668.25 crore, compared to ₹5,00,371.25 crore in the previous year. The standalone net profit for the year stood at ₹23,303.22 crore, a significant increase from ₹13,275.26 crore in FY 2024-25. On a consolidated basis, the corporation achieved a total income of ₹5,26,119.17 crore and a profit for the period of ₹25,843.45 crore.

Operational Performance

BPCL maintained strong physical performance throughout the fiscal year. The company recorded a refinery throughput of 41.15 MMT. Domestic market sales demonstrated consistent growth, reaching 54.18 MMT, with an overall domestic market sales growth of 3.40%. Export sales also saw an upward trend, totaling 1.54 MMT for the year.

Exceptional Items and Strategic Updates

The financial results reflect an impairment loss of ₹4,349.13 crore concerning investments in its wholly owned subsidiary, Bharat PetroResources Limited (BPRL). This impairment was recognized following a re-evaluation of asset values. Additionally, the company recognized compensation of ₹3,164.15 crore from the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MoPNG) for under-recoveries on domestic LPG sales, which helped reduce its net cumulative negative buffer.

Segment Insights

The corporation’s operations are divided into two primary segments: Downstream Petroleum and Exploration & Production (E&P) of Hydrocarbons. The Downstream Petroleum segment remains the primary revenue driver, contributing ₹5,22,668.25 crore in revenue for the year, while the E&P segment contributed ₹152.16 crore.
