Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL) has disclosed that both the BSE Limited and the National Stock Exchange of India Limited have imposed a fine of ₹13,03,900/- each for the quarter ended June 30, 2026. BDL intends to seek a waiver for these penalties, citing the impossibility of compliance due to the government’s authority in director appointments, asserting no impact on its operations.
Stock Exchanges Levy Fines on BDL
Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL) has informed the stock exchanges that it has been levied a fine of ₹13,03,900/- by both BSE Limited (BSE) and the National Stock Exchange of India Limited (NSE). This penalty pertains to the quarter that concluded on June 30, 2026, and is a result of non-compliance with various regulations under SEBI LODR, including but not limited to Regulation 17(1), 17(2A), 18(1), 19(1), 20(2)/(2A), and 21(2).
BDL Seeks Waiver of Fines
The company has stated its intention to pursue a waiver for these fines. BDL plans to argue that compliance was impossible, citing its policy for exemption of fines. The rationale is that the authority to appoint Directors to the Board of BDL rests with the President of India, acting through the Ministry of Defence, and that the Board itself has no role in this appointment process. Despite the imposition of these fines, BDL has emphasized that they will have no impact on the financial, operational, or any other activities of the company.
