Following the resignation of Mr. Navin Sharma, the Board of Directors of Bandhan Bank has named Mr. Sandip Kumar Bubna as the new Interim Chief Audit Executive and Head of Internal Audit. This leadership change was formalised during the board meeting held on April 27, 2026. The appointment is temporary, with a defined tenure of six months, or ending sooner should a permanent CAE join the organization.
Professional Background and Expertise
Mr. Bubna is a seasoned professional with more than 15 years of expertise specializing in internal audit assignments within the banking sector. He joined the bank in August 2025 to spearhead the Information Systems Audit division. His qualifications include being a Chartered Accountant, holding a Diploma in Information System Audit (DISA), and certification as an Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
Previous Experience
Before his tenure at Bandhan Bank, Mr. Bubna served as the Senior Audit Manager for Information Systems Audit at ICICI Bank. During his time there, he managed diverse audit domains, including cyber security, Third Party Security Risk Management, audit analytics, and the oversight of retail branch operations, currency chests, and regional processing centers.
