Awfis Space Solutions, in collaboration with Zinnov, has released a new report titled “The Great Workplace Reset: How India GCCs are Redefining Work, Workforce, and Workspace.” The report details the evolving landscape of Global Capability Centers (GCCs) in India, their shift towards strategic ownership, and the impact on talent acquisition and workspace decisions. It highlights India’s growing role as a hub for innovation and R&D.
New Report Highlights GCC Evolution
Awfis Space Solutions Ltd, India’s leading flexible workspace provider, has partnered with Zinnov, a global management consulting firm, to launch a significant report. Titled “The Great Workplace Reset: How India GCCs are Redefining Work, Workforce, and Workspace,” the report was released on August 19, 2026. It provides an in-depth analysis of the Indian Global Capability Centers (GCC) sector, tracking its transformation from execution hubs to strategic centers of ownership.
Key Findings on India’s GCC Market
The report indicates that India is home to 2,117 GCCs, generating approximately USD 98.4 billion in revenue and employing over 2.36 million professionals as of FY26E. The number of GCCs has seen a growth of nearly 32% since FY21, with 506 of the Global 2000 companies now operating centers in India. The analysis emphasizes a significant shift in the nature of work performed by GCCs, with a move from commodity-based tasks to complex problem-solving and cutting-edge R&D, which has doubled in scope.
Talent and Workspace Dynamics
Furthermore, the report underscores the burgeoning AI/ML talent pool within GCCs, projected to reach 250,000 professionals by 2026, positioning India as the second-largest AI talent market globally. The research also highlights workspace as a critical operational decision, driven by talent, control, speed, flexibility, and brand. This is reflected in the market’s performance, with GCCs accounting for 44% of the quarterly office leasing volume in Q1 2026, leasing 9.1 million sq ft.
Awfis’s Role and Future Outlook
Awfis, a workspace partner for the 19th edition of Zinnov Confluence 2026, is positioned to support this evolving demand. Mr. Amit Ramani, Chairman and Managing Director of Awfis Space Solutions Ltd., commented on the report, stating that the findings validate Awfis’s business model, which focuses on flexible and managed office formats to meet the dynamic needs of GCCs. Nitika Goel, CMO & Managing Partner at Zinnov, added that the shift in work and workforce requires workspace decisions that align with talent, control, speed, flexibility, and brand.
