Avanti Feeds Reports Strong Q1 FY27 Performance

Avanti Feeds Limited has released its financial results for the first quarter ended June 30, 2026 (Q1 FY27), showcasing significant year-on-year growth. The company reported a consolidated gross income of ₹1,966 crore, representing a substantial 19% increase compared to ₹1,657 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal year (Q1 FY26). This growth was also marked by a 30% rise from the preceding quarter (Q4 FY26).

Feed Division Highlights

The company’s core feed division demonstrated strong operational performance. For Q1 FY27, the gross income for the feed division reached ₹1,615 crore, a 27% increase from ₹1,279 crore in Q1 FY26. This surge was driven by a 27% increase in sales volume, amounting to 28,287 metric tons (MT). Feed sales for the quarter stood at 1,93,852 MT, up from 1,65,564 MT in Q1 FY26.

Shrimp Processing and Export Division

The Shrimp Processing and Export Division reported a gross income of ₹350 crore in Q1 FY27, a decrease of 7% compared to ₹378 crore in Q1 FY26. This was primarily due to a 16% decline in sales volume, although the average selling price realization improved. Profit before tax (PBT) for this division, before exceptional items, was ₹45 crore, a notable increase from ₹25 crore in the same quarter last year, attributed to better pricing and favorable foreign exchange rates.

Pet Food Segment Development

In its Pet Food segment, under the brand ‘Avant Furst’, the company saw sales increase to ₹180 lakh in Q1 FY26/27, up from ₹151 lakh in Q4 FY25/26. The company is actively expanding its market reach and plans to introduce new product variants. Furthermore, Avanti Feeds has acquired land near Hyderabad for a state-of-the-art pet food manufacturing facility, with construction pending necessary approvals.

Market Outlook and Challenges

Despite the positive performance, the company acknowledged prevailing market challenges, including increased raw material costs for feed manufacturing, such as fish meal and soybean meal. These rising input costs are putting pressure on margins. However, Avanti Feeds expressed optimism that favorable monsoon and easing El Nino effects might stabilize raw material prices in the coming months. The company is actively working with stakeholders and the government on policy interventions to ensure the long-term sustainability of the aquaculture industry.

The company has also taken a price hike of approximately 10% in its feed products in June 2026 to partially offset increased raw material costs.
