The combined entity, formed through the merger of Aster DM Healthcare and Quality Care, reported significant growth across key financial metrics.

Key Financial Highlights

For the first quarter of FY27, the company announced that its consolidated revenue reached INR 2,597 crore, marking a substantial 20% increase compared to the same period in the previous year. Operating EBITDA saw an even more impressive rise of 30% year-on-year, totaling INR 576 crore. This strong performance led to an expansion of the EBITDA margin by 170 basis points, achieving 22.2%.

Drivers of Growth

The revenue growth was primarily attributed to an increase in patient volumes, supported by higher realizations driven by an increasingly complex case mix. The company treated over 2 million patients in Q1, a 13% year-on-year increase. Blended occupancy expanded by 510 basis points to 64%. Notably, Medical Value Travel (MVT) revenue saw a significant 62% year-on-year growth due to the addition of new geographies.

Segmental Performance

The report highlighted varied performance across different segments. Mature Units, contributing 73% of total revenue, recorded a 19% year-on-year growth. Focus Units, representing 15% of revenue, delivered a 16% year-on-year revenue growth. The Emerging Segment, comprising newer hospitals, demonstrated the highest growth trajectory at 63% year-on-year revenue growth, with EBITDA surging by 240%.

Clinical Excellence and Expansion

Aster DM Quality Care emphasized its commitment to clinical excellence and expanding geographic access. The company is focusing on scaling super-specialty care, medical expansion into Tier 2 and Tier 3 markets, and driving patient-centric innovation through digital platforms. Plans are in place to add over 4,170 beds in the next three to four years, taking the total capacity to over 15,000 beds.

Future Outlook

The management expressed confidence in the integrated entity’s ability to deliver long-term value for shareholders, driven by robust clinical growth, operational leverage, and disciplined expansion. The company aims to achieve EBITDA margins of 24%-25% over the next two to three years post-merger.
