Strategic Leadership Appointment

Arvind Fashions Limited (AFL) has announced the induction of Ms. Lakshmi Krishnan into its executive team as the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), effective May 25, 2026. Krishnan joins the company with an extensive professional background, having previously served as the Head of HR for Corporate Functions at Unilever’s global headquarters in London. Her career spans over two decades of leadership experience across India, the United Kingdom, and Southeast Asia.

Focus on Organizational Growth

The appointment is seen as a key strategic move to support AFL’s next phase of expansion. Managing Director & CEO Ms. Amisha Jain noted that Krishnan’s global expertise in driving transformation at scale will be critical in strengthening the company’s organizational capabilities. In her new role, Krishnan will oversee talent development and the continued cultivation of a high-performance culture across the company’s extensive network of international and indigenous brands, including U.S. Polo Assn., Arrow, Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein, and Flying Machine.

Academic and Professional Background

Lakshmi Krishnan holds a Master’s degree in Social Work and is a Gold Medallist from the University of Madras. Currently, she is further enhancing her leadership expertise by pursuing the CHRO Program at Wharton. Her experience managing diverse, large-scale workforces, including leading inclusive programs for business units with revenue footprints of over €31 billion, positions her to lead the HR function at one of India’s foremost casual and denim wear lifestyle powerhouses.
