October 22, 2026 – Allied Blenders and Distillers Limited (ABD), a leading spirits company, has officially commenced commercial operations at its new malt distillery in Rangapur, Telangana. This significant development marks a key milestone in ABD’s strategic expansion and its commitment to strengthening its domestic production capabilities.
Enhanced Capacity and Vertical Integration
The newly established greenfield facility has an approved manufacturing capacity of approximately 4.4 million BL per annum. This expansion is poised to play a crucial role in ABD’s future growth by enabling the company to manufacture malt spirit in-house. This vertical integration will provide greater control over the quality and supply of a critical input for its whisky portfolio, ensuring consistent product standards and dependable availability as production scales up.
Supporting Product Development and Premium Portfolio
Beyond meeting internal requirements, the Rangapur distillery is expected to drive new product development and maturation processes. Crucially, it will allow ABD to begin laying down malt spirit for its own homegrown single malt whisky, a strategic initiative to further bolster its growing Prestige & Above portfolio.
