Allied Blenders & Distillers: Approves ₹115 Crore Capacity Expansion for Malt Distillery

Allied Blenders and Distillers has approved an additional capital contribution of up to ₹115 Crores to its subsidiary, Minakshi Agro Industries LLP (MAILLP). This investment is earmarked for establishing a new Malt Distillery with a capacity of approximately 3 MN BL per year and a Maturation Warehouse in Aurangabad, Maharashtra. The company also allocated an additional ₹10 Crores for cost overruns on existing projects.

Capacity Expansion Approved

Allied Blenders and Distillers Limited has announced a significant capital infusion aimed at expanding its production capabilities. The Management Committee of the Board of Directors has approved an additional capital contribution or financial assistance of up to ₹115 Crores to Minakshi Agro Industries LLP (MAILLP), a subsidiary. This funding will be utilized to set up a new Malt Distillery with an approximate capacity of 3 MN BL per year, along with a Maturation Warehouse, at Aurangabad, Maharashtra. The investment is planned to occur in one or more tranches.

Strategic Rationale

The proposed investment is aligned with the company’s long-term strategic vision to expand and strengthen its premium spirits portfolio. This initiative marks an entry into the provenance-led Single Malt Whisky segment, leveraging future growth opportunities.

Additional Funding for Cost Overruns

Furthermore, the Committee has approved an additional capital contribution/financial assistance of up to ₹10 Crores to MAILLP. This amount is intended to cover cost overruns related to previously approved projects, including the Bottling Unit and Distillery. The increase in costs is primarily attributed to rising prices of key metals and a marginal expansion of the bottling hall and mezzanine area. This expansion aims to accommodate longer automated bottling lines, thereby strengthening the company’s manufacturing footprint and supporting long-term volume growth.

Project Timelines

The new Malt Distillery and Maturation Warehouse are expected to be operational by Q3 FY 2028. For the projects facing cost overruns, the bottling component is slated for completion by Q3 FY27, with the distillery component targeted for Q3 FY28.

Meeting Details

The Meeting of the Management Committee took place on September 11, 2026, commencing at 4:00 PM IST and concluding at 4:45 PM IST. This intimation has also been uploaded on the company’s website.
