Akums Drugs Reports Strong Q1 FY27 Performance and Strategic Acquisition

Akums Drugs and Pharmaceuticals Ltd. has issued an investor presentation for the first quarter of the financial year 2026-2027 (Q1 FY27), highlighting strong operational and financial achievements. The company reported a healthy revenue growth of over 13% and a more than 30% increase in EBIDTA, primarily driven by the CDMO segment’s double-digit volume growth and improved API prices.

Key Financial and Segmental Highlights

For Q1 FY27, Akums reported a Total Income of ₹1,197 crore, a 13.9% year-on-year increase, with EBITDA (including other income) at ₹205 crore (up 31.7% YoY). Profit After Tax (PAT) stood at ₹101 crore, marking a significant 56.1% YoY growth. The CDMO segment continues to be the largest contributor, accounting for 82.6% of revenue, followed by Domestic Branded Formulations (9.9%), International Branded Formulation (3.0%), API (2.7%), and Trade Generics (1.8%).

Strategic Acquisition Bolsters Manufacturing Capabilities

A significant strategic development announced is the acquisition of Oriflame India’s manufacturing business for ₹56 Crore, finalized on July 23rd. This transaction includes two manufacturing facilities in Noida and Roorkee, expanding Akums’ capacity and capabilities in skincare, cosmetics, and wellness products. The acquired facilities are HALAL certified, opening potential for export markets.

Operational Performance and Future Outlook

The company’s operational performance in Q1 FY27 showed revenue of ₹1,167 crore (up 13.9% YoY) and EBITDA of ₹175 crore (up 35.4% YoY). The presentation also detailed a legacy of over two decades, with significant milestones including capacity expansions, R&D advancements, and international market penetration. Looking ahead, Akums expressed confidence in continued growth across its business verticals.
