Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Leadership Transition in Senior Management

Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Limited (APSEZL) has announced a significant leadership transition. Mr. Pranav Choudhary will step down as CEO – Ports, effective May 31, 2026, to pursue opportunities outside the group. Succeeding him, Mr. Niraj Bansal has been appointed as the new CEO – Ports, effective June 1, 2026. Mr. Bansal brings extensive experience from his previous roles in public service and his successful tenure within the Adani Group.

Leadership Transition

The company confirmed that Mr. Pranav Choudhary will conclude his tenure as CEO – Ports on May 31, 2026. Following this departure, Mr. Niraj Bansal is set to assume the position of CEO – Ports on June 1, 2026, under a full-time employment contract.

Background of New Leadership

Mr. Niraj Bansal joins the role with a distinguished background. He is a former Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer with over 27 years of government service. Notably, he served as Deputy Chairman and Chairman-in-charge of the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT) from 2014 to 2019. During his leadership at JNPT, the port achieved record-breaking performance, handling 66 million metric tonnes of cargo in FY 2017-18.

Track Record at Adani Group

Since joining the Adani Group in October 2022, Mr. Bansal has demonstrated significant leadership in operational excellence. He previously served as the CEO of Hazira Port and currently oversees New Port Project Development in Maharashtra. In his current capacity, he has been instrumental in driving strategic project development and ensuring operational readiness for the company’s infrastructure assets.
