Adani Enterprises Commits USD 100 Billion to Sovereign AI Infrastructure

Adani Group has announced one of the world’s largest integrated energy-compute commitments: a direct investment of USD 100 billion by 2035 to develop renewable-energy-powered, hyperscale AI-ready data centres. This initiative aims to position India as a global leader in the Intelligence Revolution. The investment is expected to catalyze an additional USD 150 billion across the ecosystem, creating a total USD 250 billion AI infrastructure ecosystem in India over the decade.

Adani Group Announces Landmark AI Infrastructure Commitment

On February 17, 2026, the Adani Group unveiled a massive strategic commitment, directing USD 100 billion in direct investment toward building green-energy-powered, AI-ready data centre capacity by 2035. This move is designed to establish a long-term sovereign energy and compute platform, aiming to make India a global leader in the emerging Intelligence Revolution.

Editor’s Synopsis of Key Commitments

  • Direct Investment: USD 100 billion to build green-energy-powered AI-ready data centre capacity by 2035.
  • Ecosystem Catalysis: Expected to catalyze an additional USD 150 billion across manufacturing, servers, and sovereign cloud services by 2035.
  • Total Impact: Projected creation of a USD 250 billion AI infrastructure ecosystem in India over the decade.
  • Partnerships: Building on AdaniConneX’s 2 GW platform, with strategic partnerships including Google and an expanded collaboration with Flipkart for a second high-performance AI data centre.
  • Talent Focus: Initiatives dedicated to building specialized AI infrastructure engineering capability in India.

Vision for Technological Sovereignty

Mr. Gautam Adani, Chairman of the Adani Group, stated that nations mastering the symmetry between energy and compute will shape the next decade, positioning India uniquely to lead. The Adani Group is expanding its foundation in data centres and green energy to cover the complete five-layer AI stack, ensuring India becomes creators, builders, and exporters of intelligence.

The World’s Largest Integrated Data Centre Platform

The roadmap involves expanding AdaniConnex’s target to 5 GW of national data centre capacity. This 5 GW deployment will be the world’s largest integrated platform, uniting renewable power generation, transmission infrastructure, and hyperscale AI compute in a unified architecture. Facilities will be optimized for high-density compute clusters and next-generation AI workloads, including dedicated capacity for Indian Large Language Models (LLMs).

Underpinning Energy Strategy

To support this energy-intensive transition, the Group is leveraging Adani Green Energy’s 30 GW Khavda project (over 10 GW already operational). Furthermore, the Group is committed to investing another USD 55 billion to expand its renewable energy portfolio, which will include one of the world’s largest Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).

Integrating with National Priorities

The strategy aligns with the PM Gati Shakti program, where Adani will embed ‘agentic AI’ across its logistics, ports, and industrial corridors for hyper-efficient, smart operations. This approach ensures data sovereignty and modernization of national infrastructure.

Democratizing Compute and Talent

Adani commits to participating across India’s five-layer AI architecture (Applications, Models, Chips, Energy, and Data Centres). A significant portion of the GPU capacity will be reserved for Indian AI startups, research institutions, and deep-tech entrepreneurs to foster a domestic innovation ecosystem. The Group will also collaborate with academia to establish specialized AI Infrastructure Engineering curricula and national fellowship programs.
