Aarti Industries Reports Strong Q1 FY27 Performance
Aarti Industries Limited has reported a strong performance for the first quarter of the financial year 2027 (Q1 FY27), which concluded on July 31, 2026. The company witnessed a substantial increase in its financial figures, navigating a challenging macro environment with strategic operational execution.
Key Financial Highlights
- Revenue: The company reported a revenue of ₹2,627 crore, marking a significant 41% growth compared to the same period last year. This increase was largely attributed to the successful passing on of higher input prices to customers.
- EBITDA: EBITDA saw a remarkable surge of 79% year-on-year, reaching ₹385 crore. This growth was a result of a combination of product mix optimization, monetization of low-cost inventories, stable demand, improved realisations for select products, and resilient execution.
- Profit After Tax (PAT): PAT demonstrated exceptional growth, registering a 260% year-on-year increase to ₹155 crore.
Operational Performance and Market Dynamics
Despite a challenging macro environment characterized by geopolitical tensions and increasing freight costs, Aarti Industries maintained broad stability in demand across its core products. The company’s diversified customer base and operational resilience were key factors. The West Asia crisis temporarily impacted the Energy business, reducing its revenue share, but the company successfully redirected volumes to other markets.
The quarter saw elevated prices for key raw materials like Benzene, Sulpur, Methanol, and Aniline. While this impacted volumes in certain end applications like dyes and agrochemicals, robust supply chain and inventory management enabled market share gains and contributed to EBITDA growth.
Segmental Performance
The business operates across two key segments: Energy and Non-Energy.
- Energy Business (Fuel Additives): Demand visibility remains robust. While the West Asia conflict impacted sequential volumes, other international markets performed well. The company completed its fuel additives capacity expansion to 360 KTPA from 290 KTPA, enhancing its ability to serve new markets.
- Non-Energy Business: Demand trends were mixed. Polymer demand was soft due to weak downstream product demand in the US & China, with recovery expected in Q2. The Dyes and Pigments segment faced headwinds due to subdued demand and high raw material prices. Pharma demand remained stable, while Agrochemical volumes were marginally lower due to customer resistance to elevated RM prices. The suspension of export tax rebates in China has created favorable opportunities for NCB value chain products.
Strategic Initiatives and Outlook
Aarti Industries is focused on sustained volume growth supported by capacity expansion and deeper market penetration. The company is progressing on its Zone 4 project expansion and PEDA project, with debottlenecking of DCB capacity also planned. FY27 CAPEX is on track within the ₹700 to ₹800 crore range.
The company is also accelerating its long-term strategy through high-impact, collaborative partnerships and ESG-led initiatives. Its JV with Superform for downstream amine derivatives and its partnership with Augene Chemicals are progressing. The plastic recycling initiative with Re Sustainability is slated for commissioning in the second half of FY27. Aarti Industries achieved the EcoVadis Platinum Rating 2026, placing it among the top 1% of companies globally for sustainability performance.
Despite near-term uncertainties, Aarti Industries remains confident in its long-term growth prospects, driven by its diversified portfolio, expanded capacities, and strong customer relationships. The company emphasized its focus on execution to maintain operational resilience and build sustainable shareholder value.
