Aditya Birla Capital: Q1 FY27 Profit Jumps 40% to ₹1,175 Crore

Strong Financial Performance in Q1 FY27

Aditya Birla Capital Limited (ABCL) has announced its financial results for the first quarter of FY27, ending June 30, 2026. The company reported a significant 40% year-on-year growth in consolidated profit after tax, reaching ₹1,175 crore. Consolidated revenue saw a substantial increase of 29% year-on-year, totaling ₹14,731 crore.

Key Business Segment Highlights

NBFC Business

The NBFC segment displayed strong momentum with disbursements growing 34% year-on-year to ₹21,201 crore. Assets Under Management (AUM) increased by 28% year-on-year to ₹1,67,456 crore. Profit before tax grew by 32% year-on-year to ₹1,222 crore, with a return on assets improving to 2.39% and a gross stage 3 ratio improving to 1.30%.

Housing Finance

The Housing Finance segment also exhibited robust growth, with disbursements up 39% year-on-year to ₹7,515 crore. AUM grew by 50% year-on-year to ₹51,833 crore. Profit before tax surged by 95% year-on-year to ₹300 crore. The segment reported an improved return on assets of 2.12% and a gross stage 3 ratio of 0.41%.

AMC Business

The Asset Management Company (AMC) business saw its mutual fund quarterly average assets under management grow by 6% year-on-year to ₹4,27,675 crore. Equity QAAUM increased by 10% year-on-year to ₹1,98,722 crore.

Life Insurance Business

Life Insurance reported a 20% year-on-year growth in individual first-year premium to ₹952 crore. Group new business premium increased significantly by 74% year-on-year, and renewal premium grew by 19% year-on-year.

Health Insurance Business

Health insurance business recorded a 50% year-on-year growth in gross written premium to ₹2,196 crore. The standalone health insurer market share increased by 200 bps to 16.2%.

Capital Raising

The Company successfully raised ₹4,000 crore of equity growth capital via a preferential allotment. This capital raise included contributions from Promoters and the International Finance Corporation (IFC), with the majority of funds earmarked for the growth objectives of the NBFC business.
