Coal India Limited Provisional Production and Off-take Performance for May 2026

Coal India Limited (CIL) has released its provisional production and off-take performance figures for May 2026. Coal production stood at 56.1 million tonnes, a decrease of 11.6% compared to the same period last year. Off-take for May 2026 was 66.7 million tonnes, showing a marginal increase of 2.2% year-on-year. The cumulative figures for April-May 2026 show production at 112.2 million tonnes and off-take at 130.9 million tonnes.

May 2026 Production & Off-take

Coal India Limited (CIL) has announced its provisional performance results for the month of May 2026. Total coal production for May 2026 reached 56.1 million tonnes. This figure represents a decrease of 11.6% when compared to the 63.5 million tonnes produced in May 2025.

In terms of off-take, CIL recorded 66.7 million tonnes in May 2026. This is a 2.2% increase from the 65.2 million tonnes recorded in the corresponding month of the previous year.

April-May 2026 Cumulative Performance

The cumulative performance for the first two months of the fiscal year, April-May 2026, indicates a total production of 112.2 million tonnes. This is down by 10.6% from 125.6 million tonnes in April-May 2025.

For the same cumulative period, off-take stood at 130.9 million tonnes, marking a slight increase of 0.9% over the 129.8 million tonnes registered in the previous year’s comparable period.
