Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Ltd Record-Breaking Financial Performance in FY26

Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Ltd (GRSE) has reported its best-ever financial performance for the fiscal year ended March 31, 2026. The company achieved a 38% growth in annual revenue, reaching ₹7,002 crore, and a 42% surge in profit after tax to ₹748 crore. Driven by the successful delivery of eight warships and significant export gains, the company remains optimistic about its future with a robust order book and significant upcoming naval projects.

Financial Highlights

During Q4 FY26, GRSE recorded ₹2,119 crore in revenue from operations, a 29% increase over the previous year, with a profit after tax of ₹303 crore. For the full Financial Year 2026, the company reached a milestone revenue of ₹7,002 crore. This strong fiscal performance was supported by efficient project execution and the successful delivery of eight warships to the Indian Navy, including a record-setting three-vessel delivery on a single day.

Order Book and Operational Milestones

The company’s current order book stands at ₹15,324.13 crore, comprising nine projects and 39 platforms. Notably, 95% of the order book is tied to shipbuilding. In addition to defense contracts, the company has seen success in the non-defense sector, with its bridge-building vertical delivering 110 portable steel bridges, including 30 for export, and revenue in this segment exceeding ₹200 crore.

Future Outlook and Strategic Expansion

GRSE is well-positioned for continued growth with a pipeline of significant projects, including the Next-Generation Corvette (NGC) project valued at approximately ₹33,000 crore. The management indicated a total estimated order opportunity exceeding ₹1,50,000 crore across various naval segments, such as Fast Interceptor Craft and Mine Countermeasure Vessels. To support this demand, the company is actively expanding its shipbuilding capacity from 28 to 32 platforms, with plans for new Brownfield and Greenfield facilities in West Bengal and Gujarat.

Commitment to Innovation

The company is heavily investing in autonomous vessel technologies across subsurface, surface, and aerial domains. With the government’s Make-I and Make-II schemes, GRSE aims to deliver Extra-Large Autonomous Underwater Vessels (XL-AUV) within the next three to five years, positioning itself as a leader in next-generation maritime warfare technology.
