EaseMyTrip Surge in Airport Service Adoption Driven by Duty-Free and Meet & Greet

EaseMyTrip reports double-digit growth in its airport services ecosystem, reflecting a shift in traveller behaviour toward convenience and personalisation. Data indicates that passengers are increasingly opting for Duty-Free shopping and Meet & Greet assistance to enhance journey efficiency. Partnerships, such as the one with Adani Digital Labs, are pivotal in providing travellers with premium, queue-free airport experiences, catering to a broad demographic ranging from senior citizens to younger, tech-savvy professionals.

Changing Traveller Preferences

EaseMyTrip has identified a significant trend in the Indian travel sector: passengers are prioritising time efficiency and seamless airport experiences over traditional booking services. The company’s internal data highlights that travellers are now leveraging ancillary services to improve overall journey productivity, marking a shift toward a more holistic, experience-led travel model.

Growth in Ancillary Services

The company’s Duty-Free shopping service, developed in collaboration with Adani Digital Labs, has gained substantial traction. Among users utilizing this platform, 60% purchase liquor, 30% choose perfumes, and 10% opt for chocolates and other gift items. This service allows international travellers to purchase products up to 30 days and as late as one hour before departure, significantly reducing airport wait times. The service is currently active at major airports including Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Lucknow, Amritsar, Mangaluru, and Thiruvananthapuram.

Expansion of Meet & Greet Usage

EaseMyTrip’s Meet & Greet services are seeing strong demand, with Delhi leading the adoption, followed by Mumbai and Bengaluru. While traditionally favoured by senior citizens, there is a notable rise in usage among the 25-30 age group. According to Nishant Pitti, Founder of EaseMyTrip, these trends reinforce the company’s commitment to building an integrated travel ecosystem that incorporates AI-led capabilities and conversational interfaces to simplify travel planning for modern customers.
