Adani Power has announced the strategic incorporation of Coastal-Maha Atomic Energy Limited (CMAEL), a step-down subsidiary. This new entity, established as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Adani Atomic Energy Limited (AAEL), has been created to focus on the generation, transmission, and distribution of power derived from nuclear and atomic energy sources. This move marks a significant step in the company’s efforts to diversify its clean energy portfolio and explore new avenues in the power sector.
Strategic Business Expansion
Adani Power continues to broaden its energy infrastructure footprint with the formal incorporation of Coastal-Maha Atomic Energy Limited (CMAEL). The entity was incorporated on April 13, 2026, and received its formal certificate of incorporation on April 18, 2026. As a wholly-owned subsidiary of Adani Atomic Energy Limited (AAEL), which is itself a wholly-owned subsidiary of Adani Power, CMAEL aligns with the group’s long-term vision of entering the nuclear power domain.
Focus on Nuclear Power
The primary objective of this new entity is to participate in the generation, transmission, and distribution of power derived from nuclear and atomic energy. This development is part of a broader strategy to leverage nuclear technology as a sustainable energy solution. CMAEL has been established with an authorized capital of Rs. 5,00,000/-, consisting of 50,000 equity shares valued at Rs. 10/- each. The company remains a 100% subsidiary within the Adani Power group structure, ensuring integrated control and operational synergy across its energy business units.
